Mary Ann Cleary

OWNER

Mary Ann began Pee Wee as a daycare out of her home when her first child was an infant. She saw a strong need in the community for quality childcare and Pee Wee expanded into a preschool facility. Her chief goal has always been for parents to have a safe, clean and fun environment to take their children to and in creating that she treats every student as if they were her own, making decisions based on the best interest of each child. Her staff is trained to do the same.

Mary Ann holds an AA degree from Butte College in Social Science with an emphasis in Child Development. She also has a degree from Chico State in Social Science and Family Relations. She has worked as a teacher and director for over 33 years. Currently, she oversees general operations and has daily contact with her staff.

Elly

DIRECTOR

Elly has been with Pee Wee Preschool since 2017. She started with Pee Wee in the afterschool care program and earned her teaching credentials at Butte College. Elly graduated from Chico State with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis on Child Development. Her experience at Pee Wee along with her education in Child Development allows her to find creative solutions to meet the needs of children, families and staff.

Teacher Sharon

PRE-K/4 YEAR-OLD CLASS

Sharon Willett has been a Pre-K teacher at Pee Wee Preschool since 1996.  Sharon has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. In her time as a Pre-K teacher Sharon has acquired multiple certificates from PACE (Professional Association for Childhood Education) along with certificates from early childhood workshops. Sharon brings her classroom to life with fun and creative activities. She works hard to prepare children for kindergarten both socially and academically.

Teacher Amy

2 YEAR-OLD CLASS/PEE WEE PLUS

Amy Bailey became a team member at Pee Wee Preschool in 2004. Amy attended Butte College to earn her units in Early Childhood Education.  She has multiple certificates from PACE (Professional Association for Childhood Education) along with certificates from early childhood workshops. With her warm smile and bubbling personality children take to her very easily. Amy also works with our school aged children in the afternoons.

Teacher Menen

PEE WEE PLUS - AFTERSCHOOL CARE

Menen joined our team in July, 2022 and as one of our newest members she has brought many exciting and new ideas with her. She is currently attending Butte College where she is studying Early Childhood Education.

Teacher Colleen

COMBO CLASS/PEE WEE PLUS

Colleen Lucas has been on Pee Wee’s staff since 2016. She has completed her early childhood courses at Butte College. She teaches our three and four year-old combo class in the mornings and runs Pee Wee Plus, our after school program, in the afternoons. Colleen relates very well to children of all ages and is very in tune with both the children and the families that she works with. She brings a fun and happy attitude to the classroom daily.

Teacher Rita

COMBO CLASS

Rita joined our team in August 2020. She earned her certificate in Early Childhood Education and teachers permit from Butte College. As a mother herself, Rita brings a nurturing presence to her classroom each day and encourages children to flourish in their daily activities.

Teacher Kaylee

PEE WEE PLUS - AFTERSCHOOL CARE

Kaylee Sungia is one of our newest teachers at Pee Wee. She is currently attending Butte College and working towards becoming an Elementary School Teacher. Kaylee’s energetic personality is adored by the school-aged children she works with.

Teacher Dianna

Dianna is a wonderful addition to our staff. She is currently attending Shasta Community College she has multiple units in Early Childhood Education and is currently working on getting her Associates Degree in Science so she can transfer to bachelor’s program. She brings her experience as a mother to the classroom. She is warm and friendly and relates well to the children.

Requirements To Qualify – (Only serious applicants should apply.)

Apply if you like to have fun and have abundant energy. Apply after you review the philosophy and you share the same values. Apply if you believe you can foster a child’s best-self through creative and fun ways to learn. This is a fast-paced job, where you can expect to be on your feet all day.

  • You must have 12 Early Childhood Education units (ECE). Interns and aides must have completed six units with the other six units currently in progress.
  • Requires six-months of experience.
  • CPR/First Aide Certification is preferred, but not required to apply.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
